DATA PROTECTION ACT,
Under the data protection act, you may request all data we hold on you, for which we may charge a small administration fee to cover our costs. We will not transfer any information we hold on you to anyone outside the European Economic Area.
PRIVACY POLICY
We will not sell or share your data to any other third party without your permission (we have no plans to ask you permission!) unless required by our collection partners for collections you have requested or for our couriers to deliver products you have ordered.
SECURITY
Wherever possible we use secure storage and transmission methods to keep your data secure.
Collections -our responsibilities, your responsibilities
SERVICE
We will collect your recycling weekly from the street outside your office. Your recycling must be outside of your office at the agreed collection time, no more than half an hour before, and we will aim to collect within two hours of this time. BPR Laundry reserves the right to cancel a collection if it falls on or near a bank holiday or public holiday or for unforeseen circumstances such as illness or the truck breaking down. We cannot be responsible for traffic problems causing lateness, but we will try to let you know by email if your bags will be on the street for more than 3.5 hours. If your recycling is not presented in a Laundry bag or with a Laundry sticker on, it will not be collected. If we find glass, food or other materials that we do not recycle in a Laundry bag, it will not be collected and we will attempt to let you know this has happened.
RECYCLING AMOUNTS
We recommend no more than 10 kg per bag. If you overfill them, you may damage your back when lifting them, and so may our drivers (they're strong, but not superhuman). Also, they may split which is a real pain for everyone. The Environment Protection Act 1990 requires you to tie the sack up, and double bag them if they appear to be splitting (you can use normal rubbish bags on the inside to save you money if you like).
Each sticker is to be used for 'one bundle' of cardboard, which must weigh no more than 5 kg. If your bundle is heavier than this then you must use more stickers. The Environment Protection Act 1990 requires you to tie the bundle up with tape or string.
REMINDERS
We can send you an email every week to remind you to put your recycling out on time. However, it is your responsibility to remember: please print out our posters, put a reminder in your calendar or set the alarm clock. Do not rely solely on our emails. If our server or internet provider fails the emails will be disrupted. If this means that you don't get an email and you forget to put your recycling out, we cannot offer replacement collections.
If we need to cancel a collection for any reason we will let you know by email and it will also appear on your page when you log into your account. About once a year we change our collection times, but we will give you at least one week's notice by letter and email.
MISSED COLLECTIONS
If we do not pick up your recycling within the agreed collection time you must inform BPR Laundry on your collection day or the following day by 10.30am. Once you have let us know you must bring your bags back inside. We will only provide a replacement collection if contacted by this time and if the missed collection was as a result of our error.
The replacement collections will take place within 3 working days of your notifying us. You must keep your recyclables inside until your agreed replacement day. On the day of the replacement our drivers will buzz on your door and you will be asked to bring down your recycling to meet them at the door.
MOVING
If you move address you must change your entry in the database to check whether we can collect from your new abode. This is so that we can let the drivers know to pick up your Laundry from your new address and can ensure deliveries will arrive at the right address. If you don't change your details then we will not be responsible for recyclables that are not collected and if we deliver to your old address you will be charged for redelivery of your order.
The Law
DUTY OF CARE
The duty of care is a law which says that you must take all reasonable steps to keep waste safe and secure. If you give waste to someone else, like BPR Laundry, you must be sure they are authorised to take it and can transport, recycle or dispose of it safely.
Every year we send you a Waste Transfer Note which you need to sign, make a copy of to send to us and keep your copy for 2 years -this is the legal documentation you need to prove that you are fulfilling your duty of care.
WASTE MANAGEMENT LICENCE
This means that we are authorized to take your waste.

FINES FROM YOUR COUNCIL
The Environmental Protection Act 1990, section 87 "Offence of leaving litter" says:
- "If any person drops, throws or otherwise deposits in, into or from any place which this section applies and leaves, anything whatsoever in such circumstance as to cause contribute to, or tend to lead to, the defacement by litter of any place to which this section applies, he/she shall be guilty of an offence"
- No offence is committed under this section where the depositing or leaving of the thing was:-
- Authorised by law
- Done with the consent of the owner, occupier or other person or authority having control of the place in or into which the thing was deposited."
Phew, so what does it all mean? The people with the control of the streets are your local council. Councils use this law to suggest that Laundry bags may be the "thing" that causes litter. It is an offence unless you get permission.
Luckily we work closely with all relevant London Boroughs to comply with their street environment regulations and have agreed time slots with the councils within which it is fine to put your Laundry out. You will not be guilty of an offence if you put out your bags by our agreed collection times and no more than half an hour before the agreed time. We promise to let the council know if we have problems completing our collections which should mean that you will not get fined.
We will pay council fines if the fine occurs because we failed to complete your collection within the agreed times and did not let you know to bring your bags inside. We will not be responsible for fines if your bags are left outside too early or too late for your collection time or if you go against our advice and do not bring your bags back inside while waiting for a replacement collection or because of a vehicle breakdown.
